Animation Soundtrack?
Hi, I'm not entirely sure this belongs here but its about a piece of Visual Arts software so i thought this would be a good place to start. I am using 3ds max 6 and have created an animation. However when i try and apply sound files to it everything appears at frame 1, and then i am unable to move it to the frame where i wish the sound to be heard. So can anyone tell me how i can move these sounds around so that they appear in the correct position. I have tried hitting the move keys button etc but that doesn't seem to want to move it either. (am i doing it wrong?) Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Neil
I don't think you'll have much joy trying to add sound to an animation unless its one continuous track. Max has very little audio functionality. You'd be far better off taking your finished animation into a post processing app to add appropriate sounds. Adobe Premier works nicely, i'm sure there are cheaper/free alternatives out there.

Also, posting the same thread in multiple forums is frowned upon (although I think it's a good idea in some cases... like this). Just so you know if one gets closed.
gsgraham.comSo, no, zebras are not causing hurricanes.
I know - thats why i tried to make it clear that i didn't know where it was supposed to go - hopefully they'll let me off - i'm relatively new to this gig.
Thanks for your help.
I've got a copy of adobe premier 6 so have added a soundtrack into that - just had to re-render my animation as i had misjudged one of the transforms and you couldn't see what i wanted to see - a bit of a pain in the backside after a 4 hour wait.
But i'll add the soundtrack today and take it from there.
Cheers again!
