Management Software
Hi,
Could anyone recommend good management software?
In particular, I'm looking for an application that'll help me track 40+ staff members. Additionally, I'm also looking for any possible alternatives to MS Project as a scheduling tool.
What other programs are out there? What do you use? and what makes them stand out from other management software?
Thanks kindly,

Excel.
It's surprisingly good at this.
Use the Share Workbook / Share Workspace tools to allow concurrent use.
Use filters to limit display based on task, completion, time, priority, or whatever else.
Sort it any way you want.
Use the workday() function to compute milestone dates.
Use pivot tables to figure out pretty much any statistics you want.
Use charts and graphs to show those statistics to management.
Use version control for periodic checkpoints and backup.
A starting point for columns is:
Feature, Task, Subsystem, Priority, Original estimate, Current estimate, Elapsed, Remaining (=current estimate - elapsed), Programmer, and anything else you might want, such as bugs found and any dates you want for statistics.
frob.
