Hey, Since today is Christmas, I had to think about this. Since the Game Industry is so high, I need to ask something. My favorite holiday is Christmas, because I get to hang out with my family, and I love seeing my parents face just light up, when they see that I got them something. So...since when I get to adult stage(I am 15), I want to be a Game Programmer. So this is what I am wondering. Do Game Developers/Programmers have to work on Christmas? This is something I do not want to have, as when I have my own kids(a LONG time from now), I don't want to have to do Christmas early or late. Also, you can say that I am thinking to far ahead, but I do that a lot. Just how I am. Thanks to all who can help! Chad.
Obviously no one can speak for all companies, but neither myself or any of the other people I know who are in the game industry are working on Christmas. In fact, I have the whole week between Christmas and New Years off.

Thank you very much! I had a feeling, that it most likely mattered on the company. I bet their is some companies out there, that is a Grinch, as not letting people off.

Thanks for tellling me dude.

rating++!

Chad.
I doubt companies can force you to work Christmas easily, without a lot of prior notice or a very good reason. It's quite possible some might ask people to work weekends or bank holidays, but Chistmas is the least likely day. So don't worry about it, and just ask companies about their policies on crunch-time, overtime and so on at interviews.
