Hello I need a newb like tutorial in 3Dsmax 7 because it is my first time using software like this. Also i already checked the tutorials from the book that came with it and I already checked the tutorials at the top of the forum. Unfortunately this was of no help so if anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

What was wrong with the tutorials you have read? What specific fundamentals are you failing to grasp?

the problem I am having is that I can't seem to remeber the process to make a small vid of about 20s. Also types of rendering and character creation

"Types of rendering and character creation" - Thats a prety huge spectrum you're asking about there. I could probably classify everything max does under that heading. Whenever people ask for a total noob tutorial I usualy point them to 3D Kingdom.org and the Lara Croft Tutorials

Those are in three parts. If you work through all of them you'll have a very good grasp of a good few basic modeling / rendering methods used in max.
