Hi all, I need to program some 3D audio for a windows application with a non-standard speaker setup. More specifically it's for a CAVE environment with an 8 speaker setup, one in each corner of the CAVE. I have been looking into DirectSound but it seems to only support a number of predefined setups such as Surround or Quad. What options do I have for 3D audio with these complex setups. Do I have to look for other API's than DirectSound? Maybe I can even find something that will support cross cancellation and HRTF's?
The new version of miles supports 7.1 surround -
it's commercial software though.

you can find it on www.radgametools.com

fmod maybe? I don't know if it supports what you're looking for, but it's pretty powerful.
