Auras Galore
I want to have an aura/bluring effect round an object that changes in real time so it looks different from different angles.
sorta like a bright light through fog or smoke.

In Mark Kilgards stencil buffer tutorial do you have some aura examples. You can get it from nvidia.
What I''d do is just make an aura model. After that, map a texture on it with random translucent to transparent places. All you''d need to do then is increase the t & u values to make it look like it''s moving.
Hope that helps,
(ps. what game are you making? hehe from wanting auras I think I have a clue but not sure )

ahhh I see what you mean. should be a lot easier than resorting to complicated effects.
I''m trying to make a small demo with a ghostly figure in it

Where is this stencil buffer tutorial on the Nvidia site? I looked, but couldn''t find it.
