How can i loading 3d sound on river....

Hi there I want loading 3d River sound with DirectSound in my game, I want to heard sound all over a river. (i can load simple 3d sound in game,for example a bird sound on the tree.) Please help me :) Thanks, --Mojtaba--

The functionality you want is referred to as a volumetric sound source. This is not currently handled within DirectSound. You can however imitate this effect by moving the sound within the volume of the river as the listener moves.

Perhaps it would be easier to break it down:

- Find a high-turbulance area in the river and give it a turbulant sound.
- Find a calm part, calm sound.
- Bends, rocks, etc.

Then as the user moves they will more accurately hear what the river would sound like. And you solve your volumeric problem.

The cost is obviously more sounds, more mixing, and more things to set up.
