I have drawn some text in photoshop and used the blending options to give it a nice glow. How can I create an alpha channel that uses the correct opacity values so that when I put the the texture in a game, the glowing parts blend in with whatever is behind? I posted this thread before, but I can't seem to respond probably because it is archived. The original thread someone suggested rasterizing the layer and ctrl+click on the layer to select and then create the alpha channel, but this doesn't seem to work as the drop shadow effect doesn't get rasterized. Thanks Rael
Right-click on the layer style portion in the layer's palette, then choose the Create Layer option. This will rasterize most types of effects.

Now that it's a rasterized layer, combine it with the layer above and then CTRL+Click on it to select by transparency level.

Awesome, that worked. Thank you!
