Milkshape Loader Lesson32

Fairly new to OpenGL I have been following the tutorials for about 6mo. I use Lightwave to create my models and then import them into Milkshape to change the format for easier loading. I''m having problems getting my textures to display properly though. I can''t seem to find anything that allows me to specify the texture coordinates. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks Robert Snyder

Milkshape has an option - I think it is CTRL-T - that sets up the tex coords. It is in the view or window menu I think.

Milkshape could do with some work on converting textures, materials and skeletons from other formats, but its wide variety of import formats is a definite bonus.

If you can get me some good information on the Lightwave format I could probably incorporate a new loader into the tutorial (and PortaLib3D

HTH!

Here you can found Lightwave 6.x object format

Thanks for the response...I finaly figured it out on my own (duh)
Realizing I had to select the group of faces I wanted to map and then specifying which texture to use helped a lot! hehe...
The thing is I can make some pretty elaborate models in Lightwave then reduce polygons and import to Milkshape. I think it''s a great tool! Too bad Lightwave doesn''t have a plugin to convert to Milkshape! Maybe I''ll work on writing one. Not sure how many of you out there use Lightwave much though.
Anyway, thanks again for the response and have a safe New Year!

Thanks for the link to the object file format. I may implement it in the future if I find users asking for it, or if I find a number of good LWO files.
