best image format?

I agree with this. I save my work in psd then save to a bitmap and alter that bitmap outside of photoshop. Dds files seem to be the trend now a days. You can get a converter for dds at filefront. It is very handy if you're working with dds files. You can get this nice tool Here
Funny, I still use the TGA format. It was the easiest format that has the alpha channel and to be able to find a tutorial to load it. The rest might be better though. I only use TGA for the ease of use, not size or quality benefits.
