DX Framework legal info
Are you allowed to use the DX9 framework for coding
commercial projects?
Thanks
Yes.
[edit]
I have more time now, so I'll clarify:
- you are allowed to use framework and sample code from the DirectX SDK in your own compiled, commercially sold games.
- you aren't allowed to redistribute or claim any kind of ownership of the source code or algorithms in the samples and the framework without prior permission. But that shouldn't be a problem - just point people at the download location for the SDK if you ever want to give away or sell the source code to your game.
- I'm not sure what the situation is with redistributing the source code of derivitive works; it probably depends on the extent of the modifications and the scale of the code.
