Mandriva -- Mandrake.. I am downloading via torrents -- Now the webpage says there are only 3 ISO's to download, at the same time half the torrents provide 5 ISO's. I cannot find any installation information -- I have about 3.5GB left on the machine I wish to install it on. That particular machine only has 32MB Ram. Will this be okay?

ouch that's a very small amount of RAM, mandriva will eat that up in an instant. You may want to try something a little more lightweight like Vector.

Okay I have been looking into Vector and it seems the most appropriate.
Infact the HD in question is only a 4GB HD with only 3.5GB left after Windows installation... It appears tho after Vector installation and the partitions I create I will have a few hundred MB left to play with.

I need to get a new HD for this old old junker.


I would install Linux on my good machine but I don't want to risk corrupting my main computer before I mess around with installing Linux.
