submitting demos

I have seen many advertisements for audio design positions that either don't ask for a demo or that do not specifiy a method for submission of demos. If a developer is requesting that resumes for an audio design position should be emailed, but does not explicitly ask for a demo, shouldn't you send them a demo anyway? If no preference for the method of submission is mentioned, should the demo be mailed, emailed, or posted on the web? This is my first post so nobody freak out on me, TIA for any helpful input.
Always mail off a demo anyway. Even if they are not interested in the demo itself they will most probably be pleased that you have taken the time to send one.

Even if they dont ask for one initialy they will want to hear examples of your work once you get further into discussion.
