Found this article on Gamasutra. There seem to be a lot of questions about the delicate topic of compensation around here, so I figured it would be a good read. It's a quick read too. It might not apply to everyone, it's more aimed at experienced professionals getting a new job, and it has this to say about entry-level people:

Quote: ..understand that most entry-level positions have set salaries that are subject to very little, if any, negotiation.
