My name is Drew Lettner, and I am more of less a complete novice when it comes to the business end of the video game industry. I have recently been asked to produce character and environmental designs, as well as story/script treatments and storyboards for an individual whom is trying to produce a figting game through independent investors. My question for any industry professionals out there, is what is the common RATE that beginners charge for a video game STORYBOARD? My best guess at this point is to determine my fee based on an hourly wage, and of course other variables such as length and content(color, detail). I am scrambling to put together a rough estimate for this pelethera of assignments, which seems to be adding up to a large amount. If anyone can help me with some figures for this kind of project, I would be greatly indebted.
First rule in pricing anything, is what is it worth to YOU?

Work out what you can do it for, and then open offers at a little more than that. If this is your first time, then chances are, you are not worth the biggest bucks.

However, still hopefully someone will give you a rough idea of what others are wroth, to keep you from underpricing yourself way too much.
