Hello every one I have a couple of 2D questions. I would like to know what type of sprite software I would need to make graphics similar to that of golden sun on the game boy advance. Here is the link to some screen shoots of the game. http://www.gamespot.com/gba/rpg/goldensunthelostage/screenindex.html thanx's
Pretty much any graphics package will do. Though some software will make it easier than others, for example, supporting high level of zoom gives you better accuracy when making fine touches, and supporting multiple layers let you see animation frames on top of one another.

Personally, I'm biased toward The Gimp. But in theory you could do it with something as basic as MS Paint.

Most 2D software would allow you to do some form of pixel art. I have always liked Graphics Gale.

And here is a tutorial on pixel art.

Golden Sun used a mix of 2D work with a lot of 3D pre-rendered sprites... So if you want your gfx to look exactly like it, you'd need a modelling program, like Blender, Max, or Maya...
