What's the best format? Is there a website where I can read about it?
Thats a bit of a loaded question, as both are excellent file formats, and each have thier strengths and weaknesses. Mostly it just comes down to personal preference with the two, although many people prefer OGG Vorbis because its free (you have to pay royalties on the mp3 format). Vorbis claims to have better compression at the same quality, but I'm not sure whether or not that's actually true.

I personally prefer Vorbis, but I don't have a good link comparing the formats. You could try this, but just keep in mind that it was created by the authors of the vorbis format.

IIRC, mp3 offers the strongest compression, but also shows quality loss. I'd use ogg because, as mentioned, it's free and it's almost lossless, if not, entirely lossless.

a list of websites that discusses them
Keep also in mind that there are license issues with using MP3 songs . You have to pay a 2500 dollar license fee when you distribute more than 5000 copies of your game. And 5000 copies are qick released .

Closer informations about this MP3 license can be found here :

One of the reasons why i never will use MP3 ...

Not true. Ogg Vorbis is indeed lossy, FLAC is the lossless equivelent.

Although I'd not use mp3 anyway due to the already-mentioned licencing issues, I did my own tests and found that Vorbis did indeed hold up better than MP3 - particularly at high compression rates.
On the Xiph.org website: Ogg Vorbis samples and equivalents in other formats. Ogg is better than MP3 at compression, especially at lower bitrates. MP3 also has that licensing issue that has been brought up so many times, so Ogg is the obvious winner.

Definitively I will use Ogg, because I didn't realized that licencing issue of the MP3 format. My game is an graduation project and I may distribute it later and wouldn't like to pay the required licences.

Ogg vorbis is the way ;-)

Thanks to everyone. You all helped me a lot!
