Hi, anybody know what this was rendered with? Thanks.
There's nothing special about it, so it could've been anything really.

If you really need to know for some reason, your best bet is to find out who made it and ask them.

I've asked but I don't think he's around at the moment.

He created it in Milkshape and then rendered it with something.

Milkshape can write a lot of file formats, so I can only guess.
My guess would be POV-Ray, since it's also free and doesn't already come with a modeller.

Thanks, I have pov-ray installed but didnt know I could render my models with it.

Which format would be best to export to for use in pov-ray?

I've never used milkshape nor pov-ray, but the milkshape site says it can export pov-ray "INC" files. So, I'd try that. ;)
I found a plugin for pv-ray which allows OBJ, with all the tectures, materials etc. so i used that.

Thanks for the help.
It's a global illumination render, standard feature supported by most major 3d packages. He could have exported it to anything or used any decent renderer to achive that.
