The TARGA Advantage
Will it increase the fps in my engine if I load TGA or RAW images rather than bitmaps? If so, which is the most efficient?

Nope, shouldn''t be any difference.

Then what is the point of loading a TGA image with 60 lines of code when you can load a bitmap with 10??

There are many reasons but one of them is that the TARGA format has support for alpha informations. Also, it comes in a variety of bit depth (8, 16, 24, 32 and probably exotic stuff like 2 and 4), can be compressed and is supported by a wide variety of image editing programs, 3d renderers, etc on multiple OSes.
I never used RAW images so I don''t know anything about that. However, the file format shouldn''t make any difference in your FPS at all.
BTW never assume than I''m correct. You never know.

by bitmap i takeit u mean a *.bmp file.
there shouldnt be much difference in loading speed between the two (uncompressed targa''s + *bmp''s). you''ll notice a loading slowdown using a compressed format though eg jpg,png due to the uncompressing.
i dont recommend using raw files (no header)
