Hi my name is Ant, I'm 18 years old and I live in Nottinghamshire england, I have just decided, to follow a passion that all the people on this site follow, I want to make games professionally, but where to start? I have very little knowledge of the games industry, but I am willing to learn. The part of the gaming industry I want to be apart of is Concept design or games development, I have a talent of writing original, concepts and scripts. This post is for anyone who can help me get something rolling, I have ideas in my head that I need help with, to mould into an actual product. If you are interested in helping me, or if you want me to help you with anything. Message me or add me on msn at AnthonyMcMenemy@hotmail.com Thank you for your time.
While this may not be the best spot, I would say start by modding games. Half-Life 2 Source for FPS games or Morrowind or Neverwinter for RPGs.

A great place to start is this article

Here are some various game development related links I've collected (I might add more, I'm probably forgetting some). I would recommend learning Python, it's relatively easy to learn and pretty powerful.
My Developer Journal, _Designing: The Game And Its Content_

I want to help design a "sandpark" MMO. Optional interactive story with quests and deeply characterized NPCs, plus sandbox elements like player-craftable housing and lots of other crafting. If you are starting a design of this type, please PM me. I also love pet-breeding games.

Is your name really Ant? Cool! Anyways, start here. If you want to start programming, I always recommend starting with C++, although it is somewhat difficult to learn at first.
