I just looked,I have a 260mhz with a little over a meg of ram. I may have to put it on my current comp.

Isn't the kernel loaded into RAM and kept there? In that case you'll have to make a pretty small kernel. My kernel for my P2 is 1.5MB (some unneeded features I'm sure)... ah, go with a 2.2 or 2.4 kernel, they are smaller than the 2.6 series.
