my first video game
well first, english is not my first language, so sorry for the mistakes.
as the subject says, this is my first video game
it was written almost completely from scratch, i only took (and modified) the fonts functions from the nehe base code... and the timer ;)
i based my programming in:
- lesson 21,
- the matrix forum based tutorial how to make a chess (this one is very recent, and by the way, i could never make it run :( )
- quake 1 & 2 source code
- Introduction to Ogg Vorbis article, by TangentZ (http://www.gamedev.net/reference/articles/article2031.asp)
- the red book
im still a newbie, but i think im growing, if you are newbie too, i strongly suggest you to read this article http://www.gamedev.net/reference/design/features/makegames/
you can download the game from here: http://meganuke.no-ip.com
its a geocities hosted page, so if it doest work you should try later
i dont know how many copyrights i am violating, i just hope nobody sues me ;)
well, play the game and tell me what you think, its freeware.
bye
MEGANUKE
*edit:
oh i almost forgot, you need openal installed in your pc, in order to run the game, and, i did not add too much error checking (cause im lazy), so, if you dont have openal, the game just wont run.
**edit:
how do i manage to forget everything?
the game is a tetris clone, i called "Triste" (the spanish word for "sad")

Not bad, not bad at all
A few glitches though...there were SEVERAL occasions where I had filled up an entire row and the game did not register the row as needing to be destroyed. It made it a little frustrating.
if you want to avoid copyright issues, try some guilt-free music for your games. Use music under a creative commons license! go to http://www.creativecommons.org/ for more info.
I bet a second version would be very neat. Also, an english version would be neat to. Try libiconv to aide in that.

Glad I help :) Sry about it not running. If you have any error info, send it over (thereisnocowlevel@hotmail.com) and I'll take a look.
Nice work :D ,
