Here's a bit of my most recent attempt at conjuring a decent FPS story. Below is my latest progress on my most recent idea. I hope you like it. In the early 26th century, the Dominion, the first united Earth government, is struggling for its life against an alien race, the Mithridians, and their holy war against the Dominion. Fueled by an explosion on a diplomatic vessel that was mistaken as an assasination attempt on their most powerful religious leader over 255 years ago, they have been driven inexorably into a total war by the leader's descendants. The Dominion has been buckling over this unbearable military pressure for decades, and Earth has been besieged, but successfully defended, once. With your help, it will not happen again. You, the player, are an elite Sargeant in the Dominion Marine Corps. Decorated with almost every award available to you, you have exceeded the wildest dreams of your superiors. Because of your merit, you are chosen to lead a squadron of the most powerful infantry units in human history -- the Warhammer soldiers. Outfitted with groundbreaking titanium-A armor, recharging energy shielding, and nanotechnology that boosts human attributes to superhuman levels, you are the bane of what was the most feared military force ever. One million Mithridian Phalanx are but a joke compared to only 5,000 Warhammer soldiers. There are not enough of you to annihilate the Mithridians, but enough to beat back the fleet bound to destroy the foundation of Humanity...Earth. You, leading your squad of four others, are on the Dominion battleship Metacom, heading for the Octavia II colony-world for an advanced examination. But, when the enemy enters the system and tears apart the colony's orbital defense system, you are forced to drop yourself to the surface of the planet, and muster a defense against the incoming invaders. It appears they are looking for something -- you must find whatever it is, retrieve it, and attempt to lure the Mithridians away before they crush you and your comrades.
