Who knows
Hello there!
Please, answer these questions:
1. What would you like to see in games?
2. What kind of games you like?
Thanks.
I won't really answer your question, but hear it anyway:
+ I'd love a new "Omikron : The nomad soul"
+ I'd reeeaaallly love a multiplayer Morrowind
That's all!
But really, I'm missing good old times, where games where not really beautiful, but had that little something that made you wanna play them.
Nowadays, games are more 'n more astonishingly gorgeous. Yet most of them are damn boring...
You could say there are 2 kind of games:
- those that don't need real scenario, the ones you just sit in front of and play ( the UT serie, or even these old good shoot'em up like Ikaruga)
- those that intend to swallow you in their world, having you stuck for hours.
For those in the first category -which is too rare I think- gameplay is the major key.
For the others, working on the bakground, and on how to present it to the player (Metal Gear serie is a good example I think) is the key.
Of course, having nice graphics will always be a plus.

Well, I've been organising a list of games people in the Game Design forum like, with a brief summary of good points, perhaps you could look at that for some ideas. The list isnt complete yet, but the thread also contains a link to the thread where the suggestions were collected, so you could also trawl through that if you want.
We also recently had this thread - the responses to it may be of interest to you, and some are quite detailed.
As for your questions, I've pretty much answered them in more detail previously, you can read my responses to the other thread.
Hope those help you a bit. [smile]
