*sniff*
Please, can someone show me how to make X files from gmax. I heard somewhere you had to use MakeMDLEXP.dle or something like that and something else like MDLCommander.something. I BEG OF YOU!! I really want to use gmax. (I won't cry... I won't cry...... AAAAAAHHHHH! I LOST IT!!!! WAAAAHHHHH!!!!!)
GMax is for modifying only. You can't make .x, .3ds nor anything else for that matter.
If you want to export to .x, use Blender to make your models, or 3dsMax7.
If you want to export to .x, use Blender to make your models, or 3dsMax7.
Here's some links for you to look into. Maybe a fix for you.
GMAX to X-File
Flight Simulator 2k4 Tool (Possible .X format) (MakeMDL)
*.X exporting in Max (.mdl I think?)
So far it looks like you need to save as a different format, then convert that to a *.X file.

Okay... it's kind of a round about way of installing, but it'll let me just export files to x directly. Basically, you use the Flight Simulator 2004 MDL exporter to export MDL files from gmax. Then you use MDLCommander to change the options to make it save the input x file parameter for MakeMDL (the MDL exporter). If that doesn't help anyone else solve this problem, tell me and I can try to explain how to install the whole shebang.
