Ive been using 3ds Max for a while now, and I still have not found out how to texture a damn object. I have looked all over the net for a texturing tutorial, and there isnt any that I have found. Does anyone know of a good tutorial?
I'm no expert but shouldn't the manual cover such basic info? Also [google].

If only google had everything. LOL. Yes, but when I load the image texture,
and have it in the material editor, the send to object or selection button is greyed out, so I cannot texture my object.

Seems like you just haven't looked hard enough...

I know what you mean. It took me quite a long time before I could do it. I only used max a few times for fun, but I think there is a tutorial that comes with it that shows how to do it. I can;t remember the name, but you end up making a few game world buildings using like skew and deform. Check the help menu in Max for the tutorials as well as the Max cd.
Load the texture in diffuse map and then drag it to the object.

You know...the tutorials that ship with Max are VERY helpful (though in my opinion, not as helpful as the VTM's from 3DBuzz.) Maybe you should start there.
