i know this isn''t really the place for this post, but nobody anywhere else can help me. my problem is with my gateway2000 crystalscan 1024NI monitor. in all reality, it''s really just a MAG pmv1448. the problem EVERYONE has with it, and can''t seem to solve, is getting it to work in 800x600 mode. the tech support at gateway is totally useless. i can''t find a driver to fix this anywhere. gateway has NO monitor drivers on their site(*cough*gatewaysucks*cough*), i''ve tried quite a few driver sites, nobody has a driver. the only one i can find anywhere is the one that comes with windows, and doesn''t work in 800x600. so if anyone can find me a working driver, i''d be quite the happy camper.

in windoze just choose some bollux high numbers for monitor settings under minitor->drivers (u should be able afterwards to select other lesser resolutions)
under linux just alter your Xf86config file (info in the file)

the problem is with the refresh rate for 800x600. it''s different from the other modes, or it''s the same but the driver tells the pc it''s not...it''s something in the driver.
