ideal poly count

M'kay, so next gen platforms are coming out relatively soon (October for xbox 360?) and I'm wondering if anyone out there knows anything regarding how much more detailed the levels, characters, etc. are going to become. Working on a level design in Maya currently and I suppose I'm trying to find an adequate poly count for what will eventually be the norm. Any ideas?
This is very dependant on the project / engine etc.
With the Xbox2 you would be aiming at whatever a top PC
can do and taking advantage of all the features of this inc
shader version 3.0 - Stuff like instancing could make a huge difference
to a project. Memory and its best use may also be important.
