Character???
I've always been interested in 2d art, but recently I've been getting involved in 3d for various game projects. Here's a sign to show my return to 2d! I think it's done, but a lot could be improved... Any ideas on how/what? http://www.geocities.com/videodragon20032003/character_noPallete.jpg ::Notes:: I didn't do the linear, just the coloring. Linear can be found by image-searching google for "Anime Linear". For my linears, visit: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/14871595/, http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/14870851/, and http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/14871985/ Made in Photoshop CS using a mouse and a 4x5 tablet Took 5+ Hours Naomi helped (gunnerromatic) (http://www.naomichen.sanctuslegacy.com/GR/) Jessie helped (http://jessielynn85.deviantart.com) Thanks so much for your feedback! I really want to improve... But I feel as if I've hit a wall... [Edited by - count_zulu on February 26, 2005 1:09:16 PM]
Honestly speaking? I think it looks great, there doesn't seem to be much I could comment on. The only things of note i might be able to offer would be the color contrasts on her hair being in to far of extreme's (really bright light reflection to almost black contrasts), as opposed to a more smooth transition and not so far in extreme in term's of light porportion's. The hair as it is seems to shimmer and appear separate from the rest of the image in places, though this could be considered a matter of personal taste, it still looks good. :D
Some darker more contrasted shadows may help as well, like some to highlight the bangs over her head (bright lights but her hair leaves no noticeable shadow on her face kind of thing).
I wouldn't mind seeing some of your own colored linears. ;D

Wow! *head inflates*
Thank you so much! I'll make sure that I try to take in consideration more extreme shadows, and more moderate lighting.

Well, in my opinion you are already quite good at coloring.
I've browsed your devart gallery (little too abstract for me), but you
use the colors very well.
I recommend to practice line-art a bit more (I've seen some line-art in your gallery as well) and this way you'll rule as an anime artist.

Thanks a lot! Yea, my lineart looked great, but it turned out too light when I scanned it in (becuase it was in pencil). So the result you're seeing there is just a tribute to my noobish pen tool skills in Phothoshop CS.

But George, don't you have a graphics tablet? Get away from that accursed pen tool now, sir!
