Hello, I am just starting out designing software solutions professionally for other people. I am interested in finding out good business strategies and relevant web sites. Please could you help finding sites where I can attract businesses to my cheap solutions? Any help in getting started would be greatly appreciated! Kind Regards, Rob Heeley rob@rahsoftware.co.uk http://www.rahsoftware.co.uk
I would recommend reading some of the stuff on www.ittoolbox.com.

They've got alot of resources for the business side of development.

Hope it helps,
Joel

Start by considering making your solutions more expensive. Cheap usually means "not worth much". Businesses will often prefer to pay for something good instead of save money and get something (they believe) may not be worth having.

You should consider joining the ASP (Association of Shareware Professionals http://www.asp-shareware.org/) They have a members only newsgroup where the members give really good advice on all issues relating to development, self publishing and other business issues relevant to software developers. It is $100 a year but the quality of information is very, very high so instead of learning from your mistakes you can learn from other people's mistakes (and their successes).
