Linux
Ive recently installed linux on my second 40gb hard drive and my pc doesn't boot properely it says 'invalid partition table' so i have to boot my comp then press f11 on the second screen and select the first harddrive IDE-0 its 80gb btw and it has windows on. then it goes fine from there i just select wich to use nt or linux. has anyone had this trouble before as i would like some help. ive followed the instructions and it just gets a little annoying. im useing mandrake linux btw
I never liked using the Linux os loader when dual booting, I always preferred the Windows 2000 (Not sure if it's the same in XP) way of doing it. Just seemed a lot easier to me
I've always had good luck with lilo. It takes some manual configuration of the lilo.conf, but it's easy to do. Just remember to run lilo at your shell after you make changes.
I've never seen this sort of problem before.

I use grub, works fine for me.. however...
Once upon a time, I re-partioned my hardrive using an old version of Partition Magic (Version 6 I think).... it somehow screwed up partition table causing similar problems like this.
Upon a re-install of Windows fixed the problem, kindof (I was able to boot into an OS), but the partition table was still screwed, so a complete format, wpe of enitre hardrive was required and the problem went away (Until I used partition magic again).
Sorry to spurt out loads of meaningless dribble which probably won't help you at all, but err, I switched to Paragon HD utils and the problem went away.
Not a plug BTW! :)
