ok, AP im not going to waste my time on you. I suggest you review your facts (you are clearly not any kind of skilled programmer, and have no knowledge). If you did understand/know anything, you would know that Linux dominates the server and embedded market because of stability (all things said a thousand times). The only area Linux is not at the forefront is on desktops (due to the simplicity and friction).

did this some time ago (LFS 5.0) and it was fun, it took me about 3 full days to have a complete distribution (with KDE and all) but to be honest in the long term it doesn't pay, I mean it's a pain in the a** managing all the packages and sources and upgrading that's why now I'm on SuSE

Yes, LFS is definately an interesting experience.
I actually made my own liveCD based on LFS using grub, Linux 2.6.8.1, udev, hotplug, my own boot-scripts, complete with hardware detection. It was only a console-based CD, however :)

You do learn a lot if you give yourself the time to really understand what you are doing and why things are working/not working.

But I would not recommend having your own distro, unless you are getting paid ;-) Maintainance can be a pain in the...

LFS is very nice and I like it a lot - but for every-day work I prefer Gentoo :)
