help me about Lesson 22
In Lesson 22, I can get pretty bumpmap effect,It is so nice.
However, I just have a question about the bump.bmp when I use the technical in my project.How to produce the bump.bmp from the base.bmp? Did it just only binarize the RGB value according to some threshold value? I am so doubted that I can't get the same effect in my project.Because I think the method of producing my "bump.bmp" is not correct.

In ideal case that "bump.bmp" would be produced by your artists. But since most of us don't have them there are number of ways to get somehow usabe maps from diffuse textures. The simplest would be to just generate grayscale texture form RGB one. Or you can conver RGB to HSV and use one of the components there.. That should get you started.
