Heja everbody In a month i'm gonna start my Internship. After this I'll will graduate. Okidoki. The assignment is that i'm going to develop a RPG game for kids between 4 and 7 years old... Most of the design process has been done (Scenario, Storyboard and thirst Digital animations in Flash). My job is to get al the parts working to a game... For a couple of weeks now i've been inventoring information on Game design and Dev. Especially around this site...I read alot about DirectX, C++ Maya, 3DsM etc... And also i read, that it won't come over night,to get al the knowledge in the head to the computer. As a nearly graduating interaction designer, I second this. So.... what next.... My upcoming boss, told me that they were thinking about developing the game in Director. But on of theyre whishes is that the game would be in a 3D envirimont...(Eviroments en characters in 3D) So, to sum things up. What's the position of Director MX in combination with respected 3D software, such as Maya and 3DsM? Is possible to make 3D games for kids with Director... In other words, everything on Game programming with Director and 3D is appriciated! i hope i posted this topic in the right section, come to think about it! Great!
Director has pretty powerful 3d capabilities. It would be very do-able to make a 3d game with it. With a few lines of lingo script you can take advantage of the Havok physics built into it to handle collision or more complex physics. There are exporters for maya and 3dsmax as well. Additionally, for extending behavior, you can write xtras in c++ if you need.

Edit: heres a good site to see some of the stuff thats possible.

Wow, wonderfull...

Great to see that this is possible... This sheds some light in the dark... Splendid!!
But, as you said, Using C++ is also possible... this 'll work with Lingo?. In other words, C++ can be implemented in Director (If so, that would be great:D)

I saw some books about Director MX, and 3D with Director MX...

Are there any other resources, like Gamedev.net which concentrates on the this topic?

Well i know what i'm gonna do tonight, thanks!
