The automount feature to mount CDs is not working :(. I tried many things but it still is not working. Btw, i am using mandrake 10. Sometimes weird things like , a CD Icon would appear on the desktop ( without the CD label ) but it actually doesn't mount the CD plus "umount" gives errors like "permission denied." So far the solution has been to do a "init 2" and then umount the CD. Any idea what's going on and how do i get the automount feature working back again. Btw, I DO HAVE the automount feature turned on.. the problem is , IT'S NOT WORKING :(

Could you post here how does your /etc/fstab look like? It's a bit weird that it isn't working since it was. Are you sure you haven't done anything that might have caused this?
