This is kinda a "Post your desktop" thread, but you must post screenshots of the programs/games you use in your Linux/Mac/etc operative system with a brief description of it. The idea is to let other people know these programs if they don't know them already. For those who don't know how to post a image:

<a href=""><img src="" width="640" height="480"></a>

Just put the URL of your image in the href="" and src="". Unreal Tournament 2004 - Noantun (winamp skin) - Konqueror MPlayer (Media player) MinGW (C++ IDE) Gimp (Image editor) SoundTracker (Mod file creator/editor) K3b (CD Creator program) KWord - KSpread (Office like) / Kontact (Outlook like)

Ok, this is a shameless plug, but here's Crown and Cutlass running in Fedora 1:

It's an open-source 3d remake of the old Pirates! and Pirates! GOLD games. If you try it out, we haven't released a version with the new ship model and little waves you can see in the screenshot, so it won't quite look like this screenshot. Hopefully we will release Alpha-1.1 in a few days or so.

Nice water you have done there :) Is it fully playable? I couldn't figure out what to do, excepting going here and there with the ship.

OK, All using Mac OS X 10.3
Xcode- The nice C/C++/Java/Objective-C IDE

Microsoft Entourage-It's an email client, comes with Office for Mac 2004, fairly cool new feature here a project tracking feature.

iTunes-stock Mac OS X mp3 & aac player, syncs my ipod
AIM- official client Mac OS X
Terminal

owl, glad you like the water. Did you try the Alpha-1.0 release or the latest CVS code? I've changed the water since the Alpha-1.0 release (to add the little crashing waves). I think it looks better.

Unfortunately Crown and Cutlass is not fully playable yet (note the Alpha-1.0 version number). In the next release (hopefully before too long), we'll have the start to an economy. By the time we hit Alpha-2.0 (we don't plan on this being too far off), we plan on having naval battles and a working trade system. It's just two of us developing in our spare time, along with a few user contributions here and there. Keep an eye on the project if you want, hopefully it will actually be a playable game soon!
If I'm not wrong I downloaded the lastest one. You are making a great job there, keep it up!

OMG! You're recreating Pirates!? I've thought about doing a small project like that myself for years! (but obviously never bothered to) Got any more shameless plugs like that? (There, now they won't have to be so "shameless" anymore since I asked.)
If you want to see more of Crown and Cutlass, check out the screenshots page. You can download the source or a windows installer from our sourceforge downloads page, although you may want to wait. We're in the process of releasing Alpha-1.1 now. You still can't really do anything, but we're getting close to trading and naval battles!

On another note, I've enjoyed playing Scorched 3D in linux. I certainly wasn't involved in coding it, but it's good times. Here're a few screenshots:

I've had the idea of recreating only the "battle mode" of Pirates for years, I'll definitely check it out when I get the time.
We just released Crown and Cutlass Alpha-1.1. Try it out if you want.

Tebriel, while I was in college, I wrote a multiplayer naval battle game. It was written to run on our lab machines, which ran NetBSD and only did opengl in software mode. As a result, the graphics suck big time. I tried adding a texture to the water, so it wasn't just a big blue plane, but the machines couldn't run it at a playable speed then. It was sort of an exercise in network programming for me, although I'm sure my network code is pretty bad, too. Anyway, it's kind of fun. Check it out here if you want.

Here's a screenshot, although the screenshot is from a windows port (sorry, I wrote it in NetBSD though!):
