Installing FreeBSD... random freezes

During installation of FreeBSD, where the files are being copied, everything stops responding. APM was disabled. I'm using FreeBSD 5.2.1, installing from the CD. Target system: Pentium 3 667MHz 128 MB RAM nVidia TNT2
Did you mean acpi disabled?
If yes: does your book supports acpi anyway?

Did it hang during install of the base system or later? If the base system is installed, you should at least be able to boot and install the missing packages...
