Geforce, OpenGL and glChess..........
Hey gang.
I need some help from some of you more ''advanced'' users.
Here''s my problem. I''ve recently installed a geforce card and have noticed a number of problems with my glChess game. First of all, the specular highlighted polys of the flat shaded chess pieces are very oddly lit. With the old detonator drivers 3.16, they almost seemed per pixel shaded, and with the newest leaked drivers, they are flat shaded, but have the totally wrong colours. Yes ''colours''....I''m Canadian eh
Second, the card seems to be culling out chunks of the chessboard that are partially out of the viewport. I''m assuming that this is a geforce specific optimization. My question - is there any way to turn this off? One thing to note - it isn''t culling the chess pieces, just the board pieces....
If you guys want to check out the effect for yourselves, grab the zip file from NEHE''s page...

Well, I don''t have a GeForce, and I didn''t notice the problems you''re saying, so I guess that it''s a card specific thing...... Good demo overall, but the gameplay''s a little off.... Well, ok, it''s not that bad, but I captured all the enemy pieces and nothing happened... Oh well, I guess that''s life.

hehe...at the moment it is a two player only game...i''m going to add winsock network play shortly. also, as it''s a work in progress and not a completed game (by a long shot) i''m leaving the checkmate up to the players.
the version on the NEHE page is missing quite a few things that i''ve coded into the latest build such as proper castling logic, more particle effects and animating pieces. I''ll also be adding a bezier spline camera system and a png importer shortly.
