Composer seeking feedback
I am a composer interested in making music for games. I have a few samples on my ACIDplanet page: http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?AID=292875&T=8963 If that doesn't work, just go to www.acidplanet.com and search for the artist "Wayward Garden." That's me. I'd appreciate any feedback.
Well, first off I'll say congrats on finishing 3 songs. I can never get more then a couple measures! I listened to all three the whole way through, and here are my comments:
First off, the songs all exhibited a repetitive nature. This isn't always a good thing. Some times I'd about give up on the song changing and then boom, you'd change it. I would throw some more variation in there.
Secondly, expand your ideas a little bit more. You don't always have to change the chord. While its cool and fun to do, don't overuse it. Try to add some ideas that don't revolve around this shifting chord in the (assumably) left hand.
So, I guess work on some riffs, and then expand those. Think up a form that you want for your music, and go for it!
What type of game were you intending this music for, I'm just curious?
