Internships / Fellowships

I'm just curious if anyone knows of any interships or fellowships in the game art / content creation field? Especially ones that actually help with expenses. And on a side note, does it bug anyone else that slacker business majors get big internships with companies where their travel expenses, living expenses, etc are 100% covered... While we artists and developers who often sacrifice personal lives to the field have to go to southern california, work 50 hour weeks, live in a cardboard box (or minimum wage if you are lucky) just for an internship? If you can't tell, I'm a disgruntled college senior :)

Any major company will make it worth your while to intern for them.

The caveat is that those internships are competitive - but theyre worth it...

You could always go freelance, start your own business, or change majors. :) At least you have general ed out of the way!
I'm looking for competitive ones. However, there's a fine line between possible and impossible :) I don't have any family support behind me. I've got a strong experience, (I currently do animation work for NASA), academic background (I'm a triple major in Studio Art, Art History, and Telecom), and great references and full support from my departments.

The disadvantage? I'm a poor college student in Indiana. INDIANA!!!!!! Being #1 in the midwest means being #5,678,583.5 on the coasts :) The point of an internship is to facilitate me getting out of Indiana and into the industry. By industry, I mean production in general, not just game development.

And yes, I'm venting :) If all else fails there's always graduate school *grins*
