Well....been an eon since I last posted to the NeHe messageboard,
still remember the really dodgy looking one that was hosted somewhere else...
The main point of writing this was just to say to NeHe...thanks, no arse-licking or stupidity, but the OpenGL tutorials on this site are probably the best tutorials on any coding subject I''ve seen on the internet, even though the quality of some of those written by other people for the site didn''t always exactly blow me away. I can honestly say that learning from the tutorials helped me a great deal to secure my first programming job, which I''m still doing, as an Analyst programmer using a lot of OpenGL for graphical representation of data. (and as an 18 yr old with no formal qualifications whatsoever....I needed all the help I could get
)
I will also be purchasing the CD as soon as my current Visa bill dies down a little(sort of went a bit nuts with it in a clothes shop....ah well), and from the sounds of things it''s great value for money, even with the additional charges for paying visa...can''t wait to get it.
So basically just saying thanks...long may the site continue...and telling people to buy the CD...well, thats my 2 cents worth...
