Lookin Good!

Have you seen a program called Teragen? because it does somthing similar, with amazing accuracy. Also a coment on speed: it does one 640x480 frame in 30mins on high quality on my K7 600 (thats 0.000555555555555555blah blah frames per second) (1/1800fps)

Also, that screen shot looks great. Tip: it would appear your using textures. (nother ray tracer i got) POV-Ray (for example) uses 3D texture algorithms and stuff (so does teragen). It looks better (not to say that your''s looks bad, like i said, it looks great), or maybe you could use an algorithm to work out coverage by slope and altatude (having grass on low flat bits, rock on steep bits, and snow on high, flat bits)

dont wanna nitpick im talking generally butbut a lot of computer landscapes u see look so fake wether they be fractal or perlin noise it doesnt look lifelike do u see such scenery when u look out the window in holland no. give me a flat scene with slots and rows of trees anyday.

At the moment I''m trying to implement all "standard" functionality of a full raytraced landscape. After this works perfect, and the user-interface is 100%, I will try to get it to look more real.
