Any freeware Photoshop-like ?

Anyone has heard of a freeware (or low cost shareware) piece of software as powerful as Photoshop ?
I would be interested if it could works on Win95/98 or Linux.

Well there is, of course, the shareware paintshop pro (http://www.jasc.com) for windows, and the GIMP for Unix/linux/X (http://www.gimp.org). None of them touches the power of Photoshop IMHO, but they''re worth a try.

Actually, there is a GIMP port to windows, it is located here:

It''s a little buggy here and there, but it works very well. Better than Photoshop and Paintshop in some respects, and it''s free (Just like the U/L ports.)

Don''t listen to them ... if you wanna get a real photoshop alike program for a low-low cost ($32 - until Aug 31.) get pixel32 at eye.box.skThis program is a direct photoshop clone and does 99% of what photoshop does. Download it for a 30day trial only 2megs the whole program. Try it - REALY ~ ~~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~Weird_OWE~
