Well I have finished the map for my rpg and am ready to make it look really good and cool and stuff but, I cant seem to figure out how to make it look nice, it looked nice on paper when I made it, but when I scanned it, it looks all grainy, and i did it on, grid paper ICK!!! anyway, I was wondering if somone here (an artist) could allow me to send them the scanned map in email and then they could transfer it to a cool, nice looking map, redrawing it or whatever, I feel that the map look is of major importance in this game, and this would help me, very very very very much. So if anyone wants to help me, email me at achilles_ian@hotmail.com or post your email here, and I will just email it to you. ------------------------------------ Hey goto my website: www.darkism.8m.com - - - - - - - - - 3d modeler programmer musicwriter artist writer UH!

Just a few suggestions on how to get scanned drawings appearing presentable again. Since you drew it on grid paper (blue lines, I hope) use the color replace tool. I don''t know if photoshop has it, but it''s available in PSP7. Replace the blue lines with white.

Try running the image through some filters after that. Up the contrast and lightness to try make the paper appear as white as possible, without making your art vanish. Then apply a mask to the image, and reverse it so all the white is made transparent. Then you can apply your map to some scrolled paper (you''re on your own as to how to make that. ) Alternatively, you could skip the contrast step, and try applying some aging filters to the paper. There is one included with PSP, and several other nice ones hanging around for free on the ''net.

Of course, this is assuming you drew the map in black ink, on blue-lined graph paper, and that you have Paint Shop Pro 7.

oi! im feeling in a helpful mood at the moment(could be the lack of sleep). Send the map my way and ill see what I can do. I will do it in my style, if you dont like how it looks you don''t have to use it. Either way no skin off your back, right?

The Color Replace tool is right between the Clone and Finger tool on the toolbar. It''s a red-to-blue box with an arrow, often overlooked.
