Can't get over 60HZ

I am running debian testing, and installed the nvidia drivers. Then I edited the x86conf file for horizontal to be 30-95 and vertical to be 50-160. I still cannot get over 60hz with a 1280x1024 resolution. Are there any programs or anything that will override the kde display program to raise the 60hz? I have gone over before when I was using fedora and with mandrake. Not sure why it is a problem now. I am using kde 3.2. Thanks
one evil hack might be to up the vertical range to 61-whatever so that its forced to go above 60 hz

I''m sure something that uses randr will let you control refresh rate.

Well, I tried randr, but it still won''t let me over and my xf86config file has a higher range than that.
I just looked at the current gnome 2.4 stuff in debian testing, and under desktop preferences, there''s a "screen resolution" option that lets me change my refresh rate.

No idea if it STAYS that way over reboots (since mine is already on 85, i have no need to change it.) but it looks like it''ll let me change it.
Thanks, wonder if I could run that program in kde? Happen to know the name?
if you''re using kde, running kcontrol, and going to peripherals->display should let you change it...
