I''ve recently stumbled on this program and have been fiddling with it for the past hour or so but, my question is, how did ya''ll learn? I read through the help file but, I still don''t think I''m really getting a lot of it. Is there any other tutorials outside of it''s website? Thanks a lot. Glenn Murphy
I haven''t looked at the file recently. But I remember it helped me a lot.
Download the BUZZ 101! file there:

If nothing works the way it should ... maybe you need a break!?

The help files are awesome - other than that, it''s just experimentation. Knowing what a chorus and a delay do will help though, as will being familiar with various synthesis techniques.
as far as Buzz goes... just experiment... and yeah do some research to find out what a chorus, flange, panning, and all those things mean/do... or well do what i did and just experiment for years... (almost 5 years now) and im still in love. I have looked for better programs, but buzz is the only that seems to work logically with my mind...

(if you ever used trackers before that helps as well, impulse tracker, madtracker, fast tracker, etc) buzz to me is just a VERY VERY upgraded and expanded version of some simple popular trackers.

best of luck.

I didn't bother learning it (after struggling with a user unfriendly interface, I switched to using Psycle http://psycle.pastnotecut.org ) which is also open source.

Buzz is possibly more flexible to do certain things, but if it's ease of use then psycle is a good one to try.

Buzz has a LOT of synths and effects already (though you can download some good free VST ones from KVR-VST for Psycle).

The quality of the audio of these programs really depends on how you use them. I've used Psylce professionally for a game.
