Printer problem

This is strange. I can print a test page through the Cups web thingy (the localhost:631 thing) and it works perfectly. I can also print using lpr and it works. But use some kind of application to print (Abiword, etc) and nothing happens. The printer never prints, and the job never shows up in the web thingy''s job list. What''s the deal? I''m using Debian, btw, and the printer is hooked up to a Windows machine.
I like the DARK layout!
I've never ventured into the scary territory of printing on linux, but I know enough about it to say that it souunds like abiword isn't using the right method of printing.

if it works using lpr, then check to see if abiword is using lpr. or CUPS directly, etc.

Actually I tested it again today and it works. Debian sure is quirky.

Perhaps you needed to reboot or somthing? Sometimes environment variables need to be refreshed, et cetera ... and somtimes rc scripts need to be ran. Good thing it works though.
