Problem Installing Eclipse
I''ve installed Eclipse to /opt/eclipse in Mandrake 10 and managed to get it run fine from the terminal but I can only run it as root because it writes to some config file in the same directory when it is started. Is there any way to install it in a directory so that anyone can run it (but preferably not in the users home directory) without root access?
Also, I have added the Java directory to the PATH in /etc/bashrc but when I try to double click the Eclipse executable in Nautilus it comes up with an error message saying the Java SDK/VM can''t be found. Does anyone know how to fix this?
chmod a+w the/config/files
