Animating 3d models
Last days I have been playing Deer Hunter 4. I was amazed to see how graciously deer, rabbits move, they really look natural.
I have no idea how the 3d model is achieved and animated: i don''t think they have separate 3d models for the body, the head and the legs, probably they have just the animal 3d mesh and can move a leg setting a kind of joint point ?
Do you have ani idea on how to make that ?

They probably used motion capture using motion balls (those colored balls and a few cameras to get their position in realtime) on a deer, i wouldn''t be surprised as that is the easiest way.
Yea it's probobly motion captured.
Imagine strapping all those balls to a real deer.
Either they have a skeletal animation or keyframe animation.
Given how crappy the previous ones where i would say Keyframe.
