CG in a lot of cases means center of gravity. If you''re working in a physics sim, then thats what this is... Where did you see the term CG?

Chances are that he saw it in some game related text, and that its short for computer generated. I remember that people used to use CGI (computer generated imagery) a lot too.

from now on...i say that we just drop the use of "CG" and just say "magic".
